How to Talk Climate on the Doorstep at the Local Elections 2026: Training for Councillors & Candidates

Registration is closed for this event

With the May 2026 Local and Devolved elections fast approaching, how do you appeal to voters on their doorstep about the climate and nature issues that matter to them?

Join Climate Outreach and Round Our Way for a practical training session to help you make the case for why supporting climate and nature is pivotal for our lives and futures. Please note that this training is specifically for Councillors, Candidates and Party Members.

You will learn:

- Climate and nature issues that communities care about such as the local environment, and how to address concerns such as the cost and scale of change.

- Narratives that win people over and how to avoid alienating voters, including effective ways to discuss net zero and adaptation.

- Insights from our latest research based on what 7,000+ British people think and feel about the big topics, taken from Britain Talks Climate & Nature.

Hayden Banks, Advocacy Manager at Climate Outreach will present the research and recommendations, and Sofie Jenkinson, Co-Director at Round Our Way will cover the importance of storytelling in climate conversation. We will end with a Q&A session.
