Getting people pumped about heat pumps

The UK needs to install a lot more heat pumps. Awareness is rising but there's a way to go - only 1% of homes have one, but the Committee on Climate Change says that needs to be 10% in just five years. So how do we get the country excited about heat pumps?

This webinar will explore:

  • What different people think and feel about heat pumps now, how that's changing and what's left to do.
  • The most important things that communications needs to get right, and how - and how the government can help.
  • How to make heat pumps a great story for everyone - not just the wealthy or very eco-conscious.

Speakers:

  • David Powell, Climate Outreach - intro to polling and focus groups on heat pumps - what we know about where people are.
  • Richard Hauxwell-Baldwin, MCS Foundation - exploring deeper engagement challenges around home energy, and how policy and communications can help.
  • Katy King, NESTA - innovative ways to inspire people to try a heat pump, and how to make the process feel easier and more exciting.
  • Helen Ball, Broadacres Housing Association - heat pumps and social housing - how to engage residents, and what others can learn from their energy efficiency projects.
